After a year:: new space (another belated post)

Uncategorized
I know I've been pretty quiet of late. Life has been interesting. Not bad, just interesting, and busy, and somewhat uncertain. I tend to draw inward when things are at sixes and sevens.    Uncertainty, if there ever really is such a thing, heightens my introverted nature. It's been almost a year since we sold our little church home in Nova Scotia, Canada. The last few months has seen us staying in 'temporary' fully furnished accomodations in two of Canada's major cities (Toronto & Winnipeg) which has proved to be an interesting challenge. As a maker, and creative person, it proved to be a particularly challenging time. I had expected a turnaround time of 3-4 months, not 10 months and two citiesI had kept out a few knitting projects to…

GreyScape, another sock weight jumper in progress.

GreyScape, another sock weight jumper in progress.

Not So Crazy GreyScape, in progress What's on the needles just now? This. Another sock weight jumper, of course. I wear these all the time! This is based on the Not So Crazy Stripes  pullover by the talented Alfa Knits. I've made two already and find that they fit very well. I don't usually buy sweater quantities of yarn, opting rather for 50 or 100 g of a colour at any given time. Luckily, when you love certain shades there is a good chance that you can cobble together a garment quantity with only a few additions.  This is one of the ramdom palettes that was almost enough. Twelvehundred (1200) metres or three balls of sock yarn is enough for a 3/4 to long sleeve version for me.  Size 34/36.…

Finish that sweater, it really won’t take that long

Uncategorized
I'm usually really good about finishing projects right away. And I've gotten very good at having only 2 or three knitting projects on the go at any given time. It is odd, but knitters, even the ones who like to sew (like me), will put off the finishing for far too long. This poor cardigan is an example of some slippage on my part.  It was meant to be for one child, then it was put away and forgotten at the point of stitching the pockets and adding the buttons. Gramps is a great pattern, and there is little to sew. When I finally picked it up to finish said seams, tiny as they were, and to sew on the 7 buttons, it took me all of about 30 minutes. Silly girl.…

It must be October, time for a new website

It must be October, time for a new website

Uncategorized
It must be October. Every fall it seems that I take stock of my digital presence here on the web and decide how to move forward, sideways, or perhaps even backwards with the process. This year it is a bit backwards, a bit to the side, and most definitely forward. The backwards is going back to a hosting provider where I can host multiple sites thereby allowing me to offer dedicated sites to each of my varied interests.  Not everyone who does yoga will want to look at knitting or textile art posts, and so too with knitters and crafters. Although yoga may benefit many of them, they may prefer to not have yoga asanam and philosophy with their wooly pursuits. The side step is that I did not return…
