What’s your princess style? Pampered or passionate, petulant or playful, philosophical or philanthropic, physically fit? No matter what your princess style on any given day, from Italian Principessa to Celtic Warrior Goddess, these stunning cabled gloves will serve you well.
Made with hardwearing, but soft to the touch, sock wool, these gloves are knit in the round from the forearm to the knuckles. They really are much easier to make than you may think!
The pattern is fully charted and also fully written out, use whichever method you prefer, or cross reference between them. So for work, play, or just being gorgeous…let your inner princess out!
Exactly one 50 gram ball of Schoeller & Stahl’s Fortissima Socka in shade no. 1055, a gorgeous shade of steely blue-grey was used for this pair.
You may substitute with another similarly weighted yarn (210 metres or 229 yards per 50 gram ball) but remember to count metres before grams since the weight to length ratio can vary widely.
I used a set of 2.25 mm wooden ( Knit Pro) double pointed needles to achieve a gauge of 32 sts and 44 rows per 10 cm (4 in.) square. You may need another size needle as each knitter’s tension is unique; always do a gauge swatch and adjust your needles accordingly!
The pattern fits most average hands from small to large. The cables and ribbing are forgiving that way. The finished length of the gloves is 25 cm, or 10 inches.
I do hope you enjoy this pattern, as much as I enjoyed designing it for my sister princess, with much love and affection.
Knit, and gift, with joy!
