These are the most adorable little man socks. Cables, twists and jazzy ribbing are simple yet elegant details that even a novice knitter will master in no time. Proficient knitters can do these up in a snap without being bored. Not babyish in the least, but warm and oh so grown up, for special dress occasions or just to keep warm on a chilly fall or winter day.
These would be equally nice worked up in a cotton or bamboo blend for warmer climes or summer days in the north countries.

This pair made in fingering, sock or 4 ply wool require only 105 metres of yarn, so just over half a 50 g ball. If you have oddments of fingering yarn about, then you could do the heel and toe in a contrasting colour. Very smart, very retro.
Enjoy!
After noticing a couple of small issues with the pattern as originally issued, the ” .1” version, the pattern has had a re-vamp including instructions for a 2 tone sock.

Sorry if this has caused any confusion and I do hope you enjoy this pattern.
