It's been some time since I did any crewel embroidery and thought I would give it a go.

The whimsical little Matryoshka kit from Kiriki Press  seemed like a good place to start.

It is a popular design, and often out of stock, but I was finally able to purchase one couple of weeks ago.

The Kit comes with the fabric, embroidery floss and instructions. You will need an embroidery hoop, scissors, and a needle to complete the kit.

Hoops are easy enough to find and scissors, well, those are plentiful, but at the cost of the kit,  I thought the needle should have been included.

Basic instructions are included, but to know about specific stitches used you will have to access the Kiriki Press website and download (or view) the comprehensive booklet which has directions for all the stitches use in her whimsical kits.

I've only just started this.  I'll keep you updated on the progress.
